Aims and Objectives:
1 To increase public awareness of members' work and Folkestone as a centre for... ...the Arts throughout Kent and further a field.
2 To provide a forum for members to network, and to assist each other in their.... ...artistic and commercial practice.
3 To act as an information resource for members and the wider community.
4 To provide facilities and run events to showcase members' work in order to.... ...promote sales.
5 To develop artistic expression within the diverse local community.
6 To enable work created by the local community to be displayed and or performed. ...in the public arena.
7 To act and serve in a democratic way, show equality, and recognise openness... ...and honesty.
8 To raise funds from members, the public sector, and private and corporate... ...sources to further the interests of the cooperative; to purchase, hold and manage. ...assets to the benefit of the cooperative.
Current projects that go towards acheiving these aims include:
1 Continuation of the open Air Gallery each summer month
2 Attendance as an umbrella group at other events not organised by the FAC
3 The creation of a website with gallery available to members.
4 A regular newsletter
5 Developing links with local community and business leaders.
6 Working with the proposed new Farmers/Fishermans/Artists Market
7 Investigating opening a permanent gallery for members
8 Developing proposals for an 'Art for Hire' business
